Login and Token Request Count

Logins are counted each time FoxIDs verifies a user's identity. A login request is only counted once in environments connected with environment links. This means that you can orchestrate your login flows by connecting multiple environments with different configurations like components without any additional login costs.

Token requests are counted when an application requests tokens from FoxIDs using OpenID Connect or OAuth 2.0. This applies both after a new login and when using an existing session. Token requests are also counted when a backend application or daemon authenticates using OAuth 2.0 to obtain a token, and in token exchange scenarios where a backend service exchanges one token for another.

Environments let you separate identity configurations, such as development, test, and production, or isolate customers.

Each environment acts as its own Identity Provider with a dedicated user store.

Each environment has independent configuration, certificates, and log settings. You can also use environments to separate connections to external identity providers, in some cases a dedicated certificate or higher log level is required.

Connections to external identity providers and other identity configurations can be reused across applications and environments by linking environments together. This allows you to build identity setups as modular building blocks.

Authentication methods are the number of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0 connections to external identity providers across all environments.
